Klipsch Brand Debuts In Factory Car Entertainment System

Hauppauge, N.Y. — The Klipsch brand will debut in a factory-installed OEM entertainment system for the first time when VoxxHirschmann begins supplying automotive rear-seat entertainment systems with Klipsch wired headphones in the 2015 and 2016 Cadillac Escalade Platinum SUVs.

VoxxHirschmann is a subsidiary of Voxx International, which also owns Klipsch.

Voxx said it wants to bring the Klipsch name to more OEM entertainment systems.

In the Escalade Platinum, Voxx is offering is offering a dual-screen rear-seat DVD entertainment system with two 7-inch screens and two Klipsch Image One headphones, which were customized for the Cadillacs. The headphones are said to offer the same sound signature and comfort as the regular models but add enhancements, including flat ear pads and an adjustable leather headband for optimal fit. The headphones also sport a shorter cable but retain an in-line volume control.

“It had always been our intention to be able to include the Klipsch premium audio products as part of our automotive offerings, and we believe this is just the beginning,” said Voxx International president/CEO  Pat Lavelle.
