2015 CE Hall Of Fame Class Revealed

Washington — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has announced the 2015 Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame induction class.

CEA CEO Gary Shapiro revealed the class at last night’s Digital Patriots dinner here at the National Building Museum.

The class of 2015 includes:

  • the late Bob Borchardt, former CEO and president of Recoton and a former chairman of CEA and the Electronics Industries Alliance;
  • Tom Campbell, longtime retail executive, technologist and industry evangelist who held positions with Dow Stereo, CompUSA and is currently with Video & Audio Center;
  • the late George Feldstein, founder, chairman and CEO of Crestron Electronics;
  • Vic Hayes, who established and chaired the IEEE 802.11 Standards Working Group for wireless local area networks and became known as the “Father of Wi-Fi”; he is also a member of the IT Hall of Fame;
  • Noel Lee, audiophile, engineer and founder and “head monster” of Monster Cable Products;
  • Dr. Floyd Toole, author, educator and longtime engineer for Harman international, who pioneered many testing methods for subjectively and objectively evaluating the sound reproduction of loudspeakers and audio devices;
  • the late Bernie Mitchell, former vice chairman, president and COO of Advent Corporation and former president of Pioneer Electronics; and
  • Wilfred Schwartz, founder and former chairman and CEO of the Federated Group retail chain.
