New York — T-Mobile and AT&T are each adding more cellular-equipped tablets to their lineups.
T-Mobile is adding Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition with 4G LTE and Alcatel One Touch’s POP 7 with 4G HSPA+42Mbps. AT&T is adding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, both with LTE.
From T-Mobile, the Galaxy Note 10.1 is available today through its direct channels at $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $25 on the carrier’s Equipment Installment Plan for a total of $600. The POP 7 7-inch tablet will be available June 18 at $7/month for 24 months with no money down for a total of $168. T-Mobile called it “one of the most budget-friendly Android tablets anywhere.”
In late May, T-Mobile announced availability of three other LTE tablets.
AT&T plans June 6 availability of its two tablets through its direct channels. AT&T said it will be the first carrier to offer Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, which it is pricing at $24/month for 20 months with zero down and no annual service contract. The price with two-year contract is $379. The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will be available for $45/month for 20 months with zero down and no annual service contract. The price with two-year contract is $799.
Both carriers are expanding their tablet selections. “We’ve more than quadrupled our tablet lineup over the last year, and we’re just getting started,” said T-Mobile chief marketing officer Mike Sievert.
All of the tablets were unveiled at International CES in Wi-Fi form.
Alcatel OneTouch’s POP 7 features 7-inch display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2 OS, VGA front-facing camera and 2-megapixel main camera with 1080p video capture. It is 8.9mm thick.
