RALEIGH, N.C., April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Valencell, a leader in performance biometric data sensor technology, today announced that Chris Eschbach, Ph.D., its Director of Exercise Science and Clinical Trials, has joined the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA)(®) new Health and Fitness Technology Subcommittee. The committee will develop standards and recommended practices for consumer health and fitness technology.

Eschbach also serves on the board of the CEA’s Health and Fitness Technology Division, developed to provide CEA members with educational, public engagement and networking opportunities. The Division also conducts market research and educates consumers about health and fitness technology products, apps and services.
As the Director of Exercise and Clinical Trials at Valencell, Eschbach coordinates internal and external clinical trials, supervises and executes validation testing in the lab and field, and contributes to the research and development of new technology related to physiological biometrics as applied to exercise, medical and military situations. Valencell’s licensing partners work closely with Eschbach and his team to validate the biometric sensor accuracy and reliability and to test their product in the state-of-the-art performance lab, located in Valencell’s Raleigh headquarters.
