The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has announced that Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO of Volvo Group, will be a keynote speaker at CES 2025, joining other prominent voices in technology and innovation. Volvo Group’s CES spotlight will be on a bold vision: achieving a 100% safe, 100% fossil-free, and 100% more productive future for global transportation and infrastructure.
Volvo’s approach centers on electrification, connectivity, and automation as the primary drivers of sustainable progress. The company is targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2040—a goal that underscores Volvo’s commitment to sustainability. “Volvo Group is leading the way in mobility to deliver sustainable technologies across trucks, buses, construction equipment, and marine and industrial solutions,” said CTA CEO Gary Shapiro, adding that Volvo’s strategy promises to accelerate climate action.
At CES, Volvo Group will reveal a multi-faceted approach to fossil-free transport. This includes three main avenues: battery-electric systems, hydrogen fuel cells, and renewable biofuels powering advanced combustion engines. Together, these technologies represent a comprehensive, value-chain-wide approach to sustainability. Lundstedt emphasized the role of supportive policies in achieving these ambitious goals: “Transforming mobility is a full-scale societal issue, and while technology and equipment are ready, enabling conditions are critical to ensuring society and the planet benefit from fossil-free solutions.”
In the face of climate urgency, Volvo Group underscores the importance of collaboration. Through strategic partnerships with governments and industries, Volvo Group aims to make a tangible impact on emissions and operational sustainability. CES 2025 will serve as a platform for Volvo to showcase how it’s not only envisioning a sustainable future but actively transforming that vision into a global reality.
“Volvo Group is playing an important part in the green future with some of the most ambitious goals and initiatives in the industry,” said Kinsey Fabrizio, President, CTA. “We can’t wait to learn more about the expected and unexpected partnerships that have led to breakthroughs in technology and sustainable practices.”
Volvo Group’s Martin Lundstedt speaks at 9 a.m. PT on January 8, 2025, in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian.
