Taipei, Taiwan – HTC reported a 49 percent revenue drop in its fiscal second quarter, a 57.7 percent drop in its first half, and its first quarterly net loss after four quarters of slight net profits.
For the company’s fiscal 2015 second quarter ended June 30, unaudited quarterly revenue fell 49 percent to NT$33.01 billion ($1.07 billion), contributing to an operating loss of NT$5.14 billion ($166.2 million), a net loss before taxes of NT$7.92 billion ($256.1 million), and a net loss after taxes of NT$8.03 billion ($259.7 million).
For the half, sales fell 57.7 percent to NT$98.2 billion ($3.18 billion).
In the first quarter, HTC reported a 25 percent gain in revenue to NT$41.5 billion ($1.34 billion) and a quarterly net profit after taxes of NT$0.36 billion ($11.6 million).
