Richard Glosser, Managing Director, Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips

Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips (ODP) has announced the appointment of Richard Glosser as Managing Director. ODP is a global investment bank that specializes in media, marketing, and technology.

“We are thrilled to welcome Richard to Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips as Managing Director,” said ODP CEO, Reed Phillips. “Over the years, our firm has completed 10 deals in the broadcasting, film, and streaming sectors so with the addition of Richard we look to expedite our growth here. In addition, his ability to do sports technology deals is an added plus.”

Glosser has a distinguished career in senior leadership roles in media, technology, and innovation, and will focus on advising clients on transactions focused on the technology that drives the broadcasting, streaming, and sports industries.

Previous to ODP Glosser’s roles included serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Digital at CSTV: College Sports Television (now CBS Sports Network), and as Founder and President of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s early digital efforts, where he led the launch of the studio’s initial web presence and pioneering of the online versions of iconic game shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. He also has had extensive transaction experience as a corporate investor and angel investor.

Most recently, Richard was Head of Business Development at Verance, where he played a pivotal role in bringing Verance’s watermark-based solution for ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV to the broadcast television and consumer electronics industries. This solution enabled first-party audience data, interactive services like sports gamification/betting, and addressable advertising. His responsibilities included managing key relationships with TV networks, broadcast station groups, cable networks, consumer electronics manufacturers, and sports technology companies.

Before Verance, Glosser served as President of Hilltop Digital, where he provided C-Suite strategy and business development consulting to media and technology companies including ABC News, Trendrr (now part of Twitter), Alphonso.TV, ION Media, SpotX, Immersion, and Corbis Entertainment, among others. He was also Executive Director of Emerging Media at Condé Nast Digital and led their video, mobile, and emerging media initiatives, earning him a prestigious Emmy and establishing the company’s early streaming media partnerships with YouTube, Hulu, and others.
