Sound United has brought on Pete Harper as chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Harper will also serve as CFO to Sound United’s parent company, DEI Holdings. Sound United recently acquired the D+M Group and now counts Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Heos, Definitive Technology, Polk Boom and Boston Acoustics under its brand umbrella.
Harper, who will report to Kevin Duffy, CEO and president of Sound United and CEO of DEI Holdings, will be tasked with driving Sound United’s growth in the custom-installation, high-end audio and consumer audio markets.
Prior to joining DEI, Harper served as president and chief financial officer of Twin-Star International, and he’s also held positions with GE, Iomega, Scottsdale Insurance and Suntron.
Duffy said in a statement: “Sound United had a fantastic year in 2016 and our recent acquisition of the D+M Group has positioned us for success on a global scale. Pete joining the Sound United team couldn’t be better timed and we’re very pleased to welcome him.”
Added Harper: “To join a group like Sound United during such an important period of its evolution is very exciting for me both professionally and personally. The audio industry is undergoing an epoch of change and expansion, and I’m honored to be working with such a seasoned team as we continue to carve out Sound United’s footprint as a global leader in the space.”
