Just as Toys “R” Us begins its liquidation sales, a former playthings rival is coming back. KB Toys, once the No. 2 toy specialty chain, could be up and running by Christmas according to Ellia Kassoff, whose company Strategic Marks acquired the trademark two years ago. Kassoff piloted some KB pop-up shops during the holidays, but with TRU’s pending departure, has accelerated plans for permanent stores.
