Denon Enters Bluetooth Speaker Market

Mahwah, N.J. — Denon continues to launch products in new categories, this time offering its first portable Bluetooth speaker, the Envaya DSB200 at $199.

Earlier this year, the D+M Group brand unveiled its first USB DAC, and last December, the brand announced its return to the active soundbar market.

The Bluetooth speaker, which incorporates two proprietary 57mm full-range drivers and a 100mm passive radiator, comes in black or white and a choice of four fabric grille-cloth colors. It also features a built-in kickstand that pops out when the user squeezes the speaker. The speaker also comes with a rubber footer to aid stability.

Another key feature is a built-in USB charger delivers on-the-go charging of mobile devices, including tablets.

The company said it has reduced Bluetooth sound latency to 32ms so that the speaker can be used to reproduce video soundtracks without lip-sync issues.

Other features include AptX streaming over Bluetooth and proprietary DSP and amplification to enhance sound quality, an aux 3.5mm input, and a rechargeable battery that lasts 10 hours and can be recharged in 2.5 hours. Envaya automatically remembers Bluetooth devices so that it automatically reconnects when in range.

The speaker measures 10 inches by 5.5 inches by 1.9 inches and comes with 100-240-volt power adapter and multiple plugs for worldwide use.
