The one thing you can count on from any Apple event is a tidal wave of accompanying accessory announcements. While Logitech was first out of the gate with a keyboard for the iPad Pro, the majority of the announcements were sneak peeks of cases for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Many of these are just updated versions of existing products, but history has shown that we can expect to see completely new designs in the coming days.
Otterbox said its Defender, Commuter and Symmetry cases are available for the 6S Plus, with all of these and the Strada series available for the iPhone 6S. Alpha Glass is “coming soon.” Pricing ranges from $29.95 to $59.99 retail.
Speck added a new design to its CandyShell line in honor of the new Apple darlings: the CandyShell Clear. The Clear has a soft inner layer that is engineered to resist yellowing and is used in such things as car headlights and TV monitors, the company said. Suggested retails are $34.95 and $39.95. Speck also noted that all of its existing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus cases are compatible with the new phones. It plans to add new colors.
iLuv’s Metal Forge case, which will be available for both new iPhones, features an anodized aluminum frame and shock-absorbing TPU case. It comes in three colors. Retail prices are $24.99 for the 6S and $29.99 for the 6S Plus.
The Ted Baker line from Proporta is already available for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and the company announced it will extend the designs to the new iPhones as well. The cases come in a variety of patterns with soft-touch back shells — shown here is the Fraiser Shadow Flora model. Suggested retail pricing ranges from $33.95 to $47.95.
Urban Armor Gear is adding two new Composite case colors for the new iPhones: Magma (translucent red) and Ash (translucent gray). These cases meet the MIL STD 810G 516.6 military drop-test standards and are priced to retail for $34.95 for iPhone 6S and $39.95 for iPhone 6S Plus. Cases will also be offered in black, white, clear, blue, pink and orange.
