Amazon Video will begin offering streaming titles in Dolby Vision high dynamic rage (HDR), bringing it on par with other streaming sites including Vudu and Netflix.
A joint announcement from Dolby and Amazon confirmed that the second season of the e-tailer’s hit original series “Bosch” and a roster of Hollywood films are now available in Dolby Vision HDR on Amazon Video and through the Amazon Video app.
“We’re thrilled that starting today customers have access to titles in Dolby Vision HDR,” commented Jim Freeman, Amazon Video VP. “Today is just the beginning. We will continue to expand our selection, adding more movies and TV series for our customers to watch and enjoy in the premium picture quality of HDR.”

In addition to “Bosch,” films from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment including “The Smurfs 2,” “After Earth,” “Men in Black 3,” “Hancock,” “Salt,” “Pineapple Express,” “Fury,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “Chappie” and “Elysium” are available for purchase in Dolby Vision for all customers on Amazon Video.
