Stow, Ohio — Audio-Technica has begun shipping over-ear additions to its SonicFuel headphones
The ATH-AX5iS ($89.95 suggested retail) features 40mm drivers, a flat cable, padded headband and a choice of two colors: black with blue accents and gun metal with red accents. Frequency response is listed 5Hz to 25kHz with impedance of 55 ohms and sensitivity of 105 dB/mW. A version without a mic/remote is also available for $84.95.
The step-down model, the ATH-AX3iS ($59.95), also has 40mm drivers, a flat cable and a padded headband. Frequency response is listed at 10Hz to 24kHz with impedance of 55 ohms and sensitivity of 104 dB/mW. It comes in black, navy blue with orange trim, and red with black trim. A version without a mic/remote is $54.95.
The ATH-AX1iS ($39.95) has 30mm drivers and comes in five finishes: black, white, red with black trim, blue with black trim, and gray with green accents. Frequency response is listed at 15Hz to 22kHz with impedance of 40 ohms and sensitivity of 100 dB/mW.
All of the headphones have ear cups that can fold flat for storage.
