Miami – Unlocked-smartphone supplier BLU Products is moving aggressively into LTE smartphones with the launch of three Android models that complement its wide selection of HSPA+21Mbps phones and one other LTE phone.
The 6-inch Studio 6.0 LTE at $279, 5-inch Studio 5.0 HD LTE at $199, and 4.5-inch Studio Mini LTE at $119 are available unlocked on Amazon.com, the latter in six colors and the other two in black or white.
The Android devices are targeted to consumers who want affordable LTE phones that they can bring to a prepaid-service brand to take advantage of low-price prepaid plans, the company said. Consumers can also use the phones to take advantage of lower rate postpaid plans that carriers offer if the consumer foregoes a subsidized phone.
The flagship Studio 6.0 LTE features Android 4.4 KitKat, 6-inch FullHD 370ppi IPS capacitive display, small bezel, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and LTE bands for use on the T-Mobile network, which also powers the MetroPCS, Simple Mobile, Ultra Mobile, Straight Talk, and Net 14 services. The phone also runs at 4G HSPA+ speeds on the AT&T and T-Mobile networks and with the services available from MetroPCS, Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Straight Talk, Net10, Ultra Mobile, Walmart Family Mobile, H20 Wireless, 420 Wireless, Red Pocket, Telcel America, Lyca, Go Smart and others, the company said.
The 6.0 also features Adreno 305 graphics GPU, 5-megapixel front camera, and 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash, 2.2mm aperture, and 1080p/30fps video capture. It also comes with Wi-Fi b/g/n/, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, hotspot, micro-USB, FM tuner, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot expandable up to 64GB, and 3,200mAh lithium-ion battery.
It operates in GSM/EDGE mode in the 850/900/1800/1900MHz bands, in 4G HSPA+42Mbps mode in the 850/1700/1900/2100MHz bands, and in 4G LTE mode in the AWS and 2600MHz bands, the company said
The 5-inch Studio 5.0 HD LTE also runs Android 4.4 KitKat, supports the same bands and modes as the Studio 6.0, and features 5-inch HD 1280×720 300ppi IPS display, same cameras, Qualcomm 8926 Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics GPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 64GB microSD card slot, Wi-Fi b/g/n/, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, hotspot, microUSB, FM tuner, and 2,200mAh battery.
The 5-inch Studio Mini LTE runs Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, is upgradable to 4.4 KitKat , and operates in both the AT&T and T-Mobile LTE networks. The phone is compatible with 4G LTE across all GSM networks in the U.S. and supports service from T-Mobile, AT&T, Metro PCS, Cricket, Tracfone, and Simple Mobile among others, the company said. The phone operates in GSM/EDGE mode in the 850/900/1800/1900MHz bands, 4G HSPA+42Mbps in the 850/1700/1900/2100MHz bands, and in LTE mode in the 700/AWS/2600MHz bands.
Key Studio Mini features include 4.5-inch 480×854 IPS 218ppi capacitive display, Qualcomm 8926 Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics GPU, 0.3-megapixel front camera, and 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash, 2.8mm aperture, and 1080p/30fps video capture. It also features 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, microSD slot expandable to 64GB,Wi-Fi b/g/n/, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Hotspot, micro-USB, FM tuner, and 1850mAh battery.
