Klipsch is bringing Dolby Atmos to its Reference line of home-theater speakers.
According to the company, these will be the first two-way, horn-loaded Atmos-enabled speakers on the market. The lineup includes the all-in-one R-26FA tower speaker and the R-14SA elevation speakers. The R-26FA features an integrated height channel that reflects sound off the ceiling to deliver the overhead Dolby Atmos experience, while the R-14SA adds the Atmos effect to any existing bookshelf or tower speaker, Klipsch said. The latter can also be used as a side surround speaker for standard surround formats.
Both models feature copper-spun, injected-molded graphite woofers, as well as Klipsch’s Tractrix horn-loaded technology and Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeters.
The R-26FA speakers carry a suggested retail of $599 each, while the R-14SA are priced to retail for $399 per pair. Both come in a black brushed-polymer finish.
