Upper Saddle River, N.J. — Onkyo will release a Dolby Atmos firmware update for a trio of midprice A/V receivers on Sept. 29.
The AVRs are the Onkyo TX-NR636, TX-NR737 and TX-NR838 network A/V receivers, which are already available at suggested retails of $699, $899 and $1,199, respectively.
The brand’s first audio components shipping out of the gate with built-in Dolby Atmos decoding will ship in mid-October. The products, which were previously announced, are the high-end $1,699 TX-NR1030 and $2,399 TX-NR3030 network A/V receivers and the flagship $2,499 PR-SC5530 Network A/V Controller. They were originally planned to ship in August.
The $899 HT-S7700 Network Home Theater System, which packages an A/V receiver and home-theater speakers into a single SKU, will ship with Dolby Atmos built-in beginning at the end of September.
