Sonos is taking a stand on data privacy and opening its wallet to make its point.
In a post on the company’s blog, Sonos announced it was pulling all its advertising from Facebook, Instagram, Google and Twitter for a week and donating what they would have spent to the upcoming RightsCon digital rights conference, in the wake of Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica data breach.
“We will also go dark on our Facebook and Instagram social accounts next week in solidarity with those seeking to build a healthier, more consumer-friendly tech ecosystem,” the company said.
It’s a loud statement for a company that delivers mostly joyful sounds. Check out the whole post here.
