Santa Fe Springs, Calif. — Swann Security has added a new all-weather DIY security monitoring system to its line.
Swann’s ADS-466 Indoor & Outdoor Wi-Fi All Weather Camera allows a user to view, record, manage and share video via smartphone or tablet.
The camera shoots 720p video day and night, has a built-in microphone to monitor sound, and comes with a motion-trigger feature that extends recording time and prompts the system to send an alert to the user. It can store still images and video to a 3G or 4G device or a MicroSD card up to 32GB, sold separately.
It also features facial detection and automatic alerts if the camera is tampered with.
The live feed is viewed via a free SwannCloud app.
Set-up is a three-step process: The camera is mounted on any flat surface; the system’s QR code is scanned or entered, and it is then connected to the user’s device via Wi-Fi.
The kit retails for $179 and is available at Fry’s, Lowe’s and Microcenter stores and on Swann.com.
