For years Best Buy has disposed of open-box, pre-owned, refurbished and clearance items online via eBay, Cowboom (now closed) and Best Buy Outlet.
More recently, it set up dedicated sections within its stores for unloved merchandise.
Now, the No. 1 CE chain has fine-tuned its reverse logistics even further.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Best Buy has opened five appliance outlet stores this month, in Dallas, San Antonio, Raleigh, N.C. and the Los Angeles and Philadelphia areas.
The big-box stores stock returned, scratch-and-dent, and pre-owned majaps, all with manufacturers’ warranties and some at discounts of up to 50 percent.
But in an effort to keep operating costs down, the outlets are only open on weekends.
No additional stores are planned for now, spokesman Shane Kitzman told the paper, while Best Buy assesses their performance.
